Barley Conference To Be Held At Conrad On February 22 – Hi-Line Today

CONRAD, Mont. (NMB) – MSU-Extension has announced that the Golden Triangle Barley Conference will take place at Conrad on Tuesday, February 22.

According to a press release, this event takes place every three years and features some of the top professionals in the industry.

The meeting will take place at the Pondera Shooting Sports Complex, located at 972 Granite Road, from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Speakers will present topics such as successful crop rotations using barley, an update on barley varieties and research, and barley germination research results.

The Montana Wheat and Barley Board will update growers on barley supply and demand in North America, while NOAA’s Arin Peters will provide weather forecasts and Cort Jensen, Department Attorney of Agriculture of Montana, will cover a variety of topics.

The day will conclude with a panel from the malting barley industry with representatives from AB-InBev, Molson Coors, Malteurop and Central Crop Consulting.

Snacks and refreshments will be available.

Credits for private and commercial pesticide applicators will be available.

Operations are requested to be limited to two representatives, and each must confirm attendance in advance.
