Expo Center Sharjah is gearing up to host another season of exhibitions and events, with around 12 diverse fairs taking place through the end of this year.
This is a continuation of the activities of the center, which has witnessed various events over the past seven months.
“Since the start of this year, we have organized and hosted more than 10 diverse and successful events, with a higher attendance rate than expected, whether for exhibiting companies or visitors,” said Saif Mohamed Al Midfa, Expo Center Sharjah CEO, adding that this clearly reflects the leading position the Center enjoys as a preferred destination for organizing exhibitions and events.
It also reflects the success of the Centre’s tireless efforts to promote the exhibition industry and tourism in the UAE and Sharjah in particular, he added.
Speaking on the centre’s success in hosting exhibitions during the pandemic, Al Midfa noted that despite the challenges posed by the spread of the virus, the Emirate of Sharjah has taken the lead globally in the return of this industry through Expo Center Sharjah while adopting the strictest precautionary measures. , in accordance with the directives of Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Sovereign of Sharjah.
“Our calendar of events for this year has taken into consideration the implementation of the emirate’s vision in terms of economic diversification, developing the exhibition industry and improving its competitiveness, in order to maintain the position of the emirate. emirate as a regional leader in this industry.
“Our plans and programs have also not neglected the important economic sectors of the emirate, in addition to activating the contribution of these sectors to the emirate’s GDP,” Al Midfa noted.
Regarding the preparations for Expo 2020 Dubai, the CEO of Expo Center Sharjah pointed out that obtaining the right to organize and host Expo 2020 in Dubai is another testament to the ability and excellence of the state exhibition and conference sector in organizing such major events. , which forces us all to prepare for it.
“Immediately after the decision to win Expo 2020 Dubai, we adopted long-term investment plans in all facilities at the center, under the leadership of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in order to ensure the application of resilience. in center operations and to keep pace with the demands of exhibitors and partners, ”added Al Midfa.
“In addition to providing the latest equipment, we have developed the centre’s infrastructure and logistics services to raise the bar for its services, both in terms of modernizing the facilities and improving the level and quality of the events organized.
The exhibition spaces have also been enlarged, in addition to providing all the technical and advanced requirements to improve its performance, which has strengthened the position of the center at the service of participants in various events.
From September 23 to 25, the center will host the 8th edition of the Real Estate Investment Fair (ACRES 2021), organized by the SCCI and the Real Estate Registration Service, with the participation of a large number of real estate developers, construction and building materials companies and real estate brokers.
In October, the Center will host the 48th edition of the Watch & Jewelery Middle East Show (WJMES).
The same month, the Center will organize the 23rd edition of the “National Career Exhibition”, the first of its kind across the country. In the meantime, the center will host the 17th International Education Fair, which is considered one of the most important university events attracting the attention of thousands of students every year.
Next November, the Center will host the “Sharjah International Book Fair”, the largest of its kind in the region. The fair is full of thousands of cultural events and huge activities for all family members.
