‘Family Vaccination Day’ will be held Saturday in Flint

FLINT, MI — Free COVID-19 and flu shots will be available at a “Family Vaccination Day” event in Flint this weekend.

Hamilton Community Health Network will be hosting the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 22.

Hamilton Community Health Network pediatrician Shaheen Sheikh said getting your children vaccinated can help them feel a sense of control.

“Many children fear they will get COVID or their parents will develop it,” Sheikh said in a press release from Hamilton. “COVID-19 can affect children beyond illness, as the general well-being of many children has been negatively affected by the pandemic.”

Supplies are limited and the event will be first come, first served. More information is available at Hamiltonchn.org.

Genesee County suffers from a high COVID-19 positivity rate of 38.6% on average. This is on the other side of the period of record new cases since the start of 2022. To date, there have been more than 84,000 cases and 1,429 people in Genesee County have died.
