First summer picnic in Carlow this summer with a day of family fun and live music
Summer Picnic is Ireland’s newest festival and takes place over three Saturdays in June and July.
With plenty on offer, it has the potential to become one of Ireland’s most popular family summer festivals for years to come.
Starting Saturday, June 4 at noon in Tinryland, Co. Carlow, Summer Picnic provides daytime family fun and plays live music from 6 p.m. for festival-loving fans.

Families are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets, soak up the sun and introduce their children to a wide selection of fun games.
Plus, GAA, rugby and soccer coaches have planned their own special activities to entertain youngsters while parents stroll through the food and craft market. The coaches plan to end the fun day with a special children’s picnic that aims to bring everyone together.
In the evening, from 6 p.m., live music will become the main entertainment. Hugely popular tribute bands Qween (June 4) and 21st Century ABBA (June 25) as well as renowned South African artists Ross Learmonth and APPEL (July 30), backed by Ukrainian singers and local artists, will take the main stage and will bring a real outdoor festival atmosphere to Carlow.

The summer picnic is organized by Saffa Events. Event creator Surine Hillebrand is delighted to welcome visitors of all ages to the first ever summer picnic in Carlow.
“Many festivals often focus on a very specific target audience. The summer picnic invites everyone, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity. It will be an unforgettable event to start the summer.
A special invitation is sent to all our new Ukrainian friends.
In an effort to promote unity and inclusiveness, Summer Picnic aims to bring families of all nationalities together through three common interests: fun, food and music. Tinryland GAA invites all children to play together and experience real outdoor games rather than virtual games.
