The High Sheriff of Cheshire, Robert Mee, celebrated the completion of major construction work on a major care development in Chester as a guest of honor at his closing ceremony.
By completing the key milestone, Belong Chester Care Village, located on City Road, is now approaching its scheduled opening in early 2022.
Mr Mee laid the final tile of the £ 21million peak development alongside former Belong chairwoman Margaret Yorke, Belong deputy chief executive Tracy Paine, and Chris Ellison, chief of site project from contractor Seddon.
Robert Mee said, “The establishment of a Belong Village in the heart of the city promises to extend the provision of high quality services to the elderly in the region, and it was wonderful to have this opportunity to see the progress. rapids made towards completion. . “

“We know the opening of the village is eagerly awaited and we look forward to welcoming the community early next year and being able to support local seniors, including people with dementia and their families.
Located in the heart of the city, next to its historic canal, Belong Chester was designed by architects Pozzoni, with contractor Seddon leading the construction.
Once opened, the village will provide world-leading nursing and dementia care, with round-the-clock assistance in six extended family-sized households and 23 independent living apartments.

The new village of Chester will join the seven Belong care villages in the North West and Midlands, as well as another site in Birkdale, which is also slated to open in 2022 and a planned new village at Wirral Waters in Birkenhead.
