Lexington Named ‘Best Place to Live’ by Boston Magazine

LEXINGTON, MA – Lexington has been named “Top Place to Live” in 2022 in the upcoming issue of Boston magazine.

Each year, Boston magazine’s “Top Places to Live” features New England’s most desirable communities, breaking down the current real estate market in a guide featured in the March issue.

The most recent “Top Places to Live” designates 18 communities as Top Places to Live – examining each based on current trends, values, tax rates and education systems.

Lexington has been recognized as “Route 128 or Bust”, as owners continue to move to the 128 area in search of an easier route and entry into Boston itself.

Maria Elementary School in Lexington has received national recognition as a Blue Ribbon School due to its academic excellence, the magazine mentions.

Filled with gourmet meals, residents hail Mario’s Italian restaurant and also enjoy steak dinners at Bancroft.

Once it gets warmer, the Liberty Ride Trolley Tour returns, circling the Minute Man Monument and Lexington Common, where the first shot of the American Revolutionary War was fired.

According to the magazine, the median price of a single-family home in Lexington is $1,550,000, with a residential property tax rate of $13.80.

Lexington’s unemployment rate last updated in December 2021 is 2%.
