Make silent calls in a noisy place with the EKSA H1 Bluetooth headset

I’m not someone who has to spend a lot of time in virtual meetings or calls, but I checked out the EKSA H1 headset for those who do. The H1 uses EKSA ENC technology to filter out noisy environments such as customer call centers, manufacturing plants, warehouses, trucks and taxis.

The H1 features a non-removable mic arm that can swivel up and away from your face or to the left or right of your face when needed. At 140 grams, they’re lightweight and easy to wear for long periods of time. There is only one earbud while the opposite side has a soft silicone head mount made from soft silicone.

Right in the middle of the mic arm rotation is a mic mute button. Above are volume up, power/pairing, and volume down buttons. At the base of the headset is a USB-C socket which is used to charge the headset.

The headband has a good adjustment range to fit all head sizes as well as a soft silicone band around the top for added comfort.

The EKSA H1 features Bluetooth 5.0 for a stable connection up to 50 meters in open spaces. The H1 also includes an advanced ENC microphone where the built-in ENC chip filters out 96% of background noise. The 270° rotatable boom microphone with precise positioning also ensures clear voice pickup in any environment.

During my testing, I increased the background noise in my room to the point where I had to crank the headset volume to maximum to hear the caller on the other end. Despite all the background noise, callers couldn’t hear anything but my voice on their end. They said my voice was crystal clear.

The H1 is ideal for business use and conference calls when working at home or in the office, as it can connect to two devices at the same time, such as a phone or laptop, without having to disconnect and switch .

Having one of your ears uncovered means you can still hear your own voice and everything around you clearly. However, this can be a slight inconvenience if you work in a noisy environment.

Sound quality

Call quality is excellent, and the mic in particular does an amazing job of isolating your voice from all background noise. I did notice some distortion if I spoke too loudly, but in general vocals are crisp and clear. The headset speaker is great for calls but not so good if you want to listen to music or watch a movie. For one, it’s only mono since there’s only one speaker, but that’s not what the headphones are designed for anyway.

Thanks to its built-in 500 mAh rechargeable battery, the H1 is capable of delivering 57 hours of music, 30 hours of talk time and 165 hours of standby time. The H1 only takes 1.5 hours to fully charge.

The EKSA H1 is a great option for those who spend a lot of time on calls and don’t want the added weight and expense of standard headphones. At just €56 (, the H1 represents excellent value for money.
