MyGolf Dubai has a real place in the UAE golf industry, says founder Zhao

Dubai: Playing famous courses like St Andrews, Pebble Beach and Bethpage Black will hold a special place and MyGolf Dubai offers such an experience for a pro to a beginner and that too in Dubai. The newly constructed facility offers a variety of indoor options, especially at a time when temperatures are beginning to soar. GULF NEWS caught up with Michael Zhao, founder of MyGolf Dubai. who believes that this facility provides the right opportunity to learn the game and has a real place in the UAE golf industry. Excerpts from the interview…

How long has MyGolf Dubai been here at Dragon Mart, Dubai, and what is it?

MyGolf Dubai is Dubai’s premier luxury indoor golf and entertainment lounge. MyGolf Dubai app launched on April 4, 2022, we are a brand new facility and the first in the region, many similar initiatives (off course golf experience) are present in South East Asia.

We have 14 indoor golf bays that can accommodate up to a maximum of six players at a time in each bay. Our options include open bays, private bays, VIP and VVIP rooms with access to up to 18 golfers at any given time.

MyGolf Dubai has partnered with GOLFZON golf simulators, recognized as one of the world market leaders for this technology. We also have a pro shop as well as a food counter and a private dining room, according to the preferences of our customers.

How can golfers access the MyGolf Dubai facility?

MyGolf Dubai is built with a desire to serve all levels of golfers in mind, from beginners to professionals. They can reach our site by simply navigating Google Maps to the nearest landmark like Dragon Mart 2.

Once at our facilities, customers have several options to choose from. There are ‘Pay and Play’ options from Dh139 per bay per hour for up to six people plus a subscription, with our special three month summer subscription from Dh3,000 dh. This includes daily access to golf facilities and the MyGolf Dubai community, as well as participation in tournaments and an exclusive networking event.

MyGolf Dubai is also the perfect setting for events, birthday parties and company outings and we have the expertise to organize gatherings of all types. You can enter, but we always recommend advance booking to ensure you have your departure time without any hindrance!

What is special about MyGolf Dubai?

It is the first of its kind in the region and the country too. With such interest in golf in Dubai and the UAE, we are able to offer golf participation at all levels, and we believe that MyGolf Dubai has a real place in the Emirates golf industry. We strive to establish a MyGolf Dubai golf community (similar to a golf club) where golfers meet, practice and play social and competitive golf with each other, and also provide opportunities to learn the game, regardless of their skill level. We have access to over 190 golf courses around the world through our GOLFZON Golf Simulator partnership, allowing golfers to play these simulated golf courses, from any tee they like.

These include the likes of: St. Andrews (old and new courses), Pebble Beach, Bethpage Black and so on.

I understand you also have in-house golf professionals at MyGolf Dubai?

We have three full-time PGA qualified professionals at MyGolf Dubai; South African Divan Ehmke and Italian Giovanni Losso provide golf lessons for golfers of all levels and Zouhaier, who is a Tunisian golf professional with 40 years of experience and the ability to converse in five languages.
