“The past year has been a very difficult one for arts and cultural organizations,” says Joy Barrett, Director of Sculpturewalk, “and we are very fortunate to have the continued support of the Town of Castlegar and our wonderful sponsors so that we may we continue with our program and champion our talented artists when they need it most. Because we are an outdoor event that is not tied to large social gatherings, nor dependent on ticket sales to generate income, we are in a unique position to provide cultural expression that can bring us together and respond. to the activity needs of the community. and celebration in these difficult times.
The sculptures will remain in place for a year, with voting for the People’s Choice Award open from May through October. The People’s Choice Award winner will be purchased by the Town of Castlegar for its growing permanent collection.
